Hi,

On Saturday, December 13 from 9:00am until 11:30am we are going to have the seminar "Pure & Simple" in the Family Life Center.  Pure & Simple gatherings are joint presentations of the Religious Education, Family Life and Youth Ministry offices for parents and their teens to learn more about the beauty of God’s plan of making us male and female.

This seminar is for students that are preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation and they need to be accompanied with at least one of their parents.  Mr. Pat Arensberg will be leading this seminar.  This is a Theology of the Body seminar.

Requirements for the Sacrament of Confirmation:

All Candidates
  1. Go to Mass EVERY Sunday and Holy day
  2. Partake in frequent confession
  3. Will be required to attend at least ONE Theology of the Body retreat in their two years of preparation
  4. Complete 5 parish projects over the 2 year period
  5. Will be required to undergo an interview by the Pastor before confirmation

If you have attended MCPS for at least 2 years, you have fulfilled the necessary Catechetical requirements for confirmation.

Since these candidates will not be receiving daily catechesis in the Catholic faith at school, we require that these students have 100% participation the in Youth Group

Those who attend Home school
If your home school program has a Catholic Religious component then you have fulfilled the catechetical requirement
If your home school program does NOT have a Catholic Religious component you must have 100% participation in Youth Group

Iron Chalice Challenge - Flag Football

Hi,

On Saturday, November 29 a small group of students from St. Bede (8 students) came to play Flag Football against 15 to 20 students from Holy Spirit.  But we had our secret weapon....Fr. Pat did a great job in guiding our team and playing with them.  All of our players did a great job and we won!!!
Our next challenge is going to be in the month of February and it is going to be Ultimate Frisbee.  We are going to need more students to participate and also I would like to invite the parents and parishioners to come and support our youth.

The IRON CHALICE CHALLENGE is composed of 3 games that both youth group will compete during the year.  The games are Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, and Kickball.  The winner os 2 out of 3 will get a trophy and bragging rights for the year.

Enjoy the pictures!
